The 2018 IPCPR was my first, so on the Friday night before it opened I did what I thought was the right thing. Went to the Casino Bar, ordered a drink and lit a cigar. I was sitting next to a guy smoking a cigar for which I had not seen for a while. I said “hey man, that looks like an old school OSOK.” The gentleman looked at me and smiled “Nope, brand new.” He introduced himself as Edgar Hoill, owner and blender of OSOK. I was shocked, was it that easy to meet the brand owners? At any rate, we had drink and smoked his cigar – loved it! The OSOK is medium plus in body and strength. Flavors I picked up on that night were pepper, dark rich coffee, cream, caramel, earth, cedar and sugar cane sweetness. It was an amazing experience, so you know what I did? I ordered them and smoked another – I am one that thinks the smoking experience can be enhanced by those you are with. Well, it smoked just as well alone with an espresso as it did with Edgar. These are pretty limited with only 6,000 rolled a month. I will try to keep them on the shelf – they are more than worthy of a try (you’ll be back for more)!
