I was fortunate enough to be asked to try a test blend of the Taino by Carson Serino. It happened that the test blend I tried ended up being the final blend. The test blend I tried was young, I remember it being somewhat choppy with the flavor transitions and needing time – well, the time is now. When Carson asked for my feedback I remember telling him it was really close to a Cuban cigar on steroids. It had the same flavor profile but was stronger than many of the Cubans on the market. The Taino starts and finishes a solid medium plus in both body and strength. Time has done this cigar well as the flavor transitions are now smooth and subtle. Flavors I picked up on include floral, citrus, pepper, cream, earth and cedar. I really liked this cigar when I smoked the test blend and am now convinced it will be in my rotation as an any time of the day cigar. The Taino is a must try – the price point is perfect, maybe a little low for the quality of this cigar!
